4x4 CAPABILITY

Go off the beaten path with your choice of available 4x4 systems and impressive traction and handling in the 2017 Jeep® Wrangler.

Dana 44 Heavy-Duty Axle

The high-pinion Dana 44 front axle, standard on Wrangler Rubicon, adds ground clearance and helps to reduce the driveshaft's joint angles for smooth and quiet operation.

Tru-Lok® Locking Differentials

The 2017 Wrangler Rubicon offers standard Dana 44 front and rear axles equipped with Tru-Lok® locking differentials that help provide ultimate traction.

Sway Bar Disconnect System

This system, standard on Wrangler Rubicon, lets you automatically disengage the front sway bar when driving under 18 mph in 4LO mode. The front wheels can then drop and compress up to 29% further.

RUBICON

Voted “Best 4x4 Vehicle Of The Decade” by Four Wheeler Magazine, the Wrangler Rubicon is equipped with Tru-Lok® electronic locking differentials, Mud-Terrain T/A® tires, the Rock-Trac® transfer case with 4:1 low-range ratio, electronic sway bar disconnect and rock rails. A 73.1:1 crawl ratio with the manual transmission lets you cruise up rocks to places that others only dream of reaching.

ANGLES

Wrangler Rubicon offers tremendous ground clearance (10 inches), approach (42.2°), breakover (25.8°) and departure (32.3°) angles.

ENGINEERED TO BE CAPABLE

Wrangler comes standard with features engineered for the trail. Steel front and rear tow hooks are useful for rescuing less capable vehicles, while critical underbody components are protected by heavy-gauge steel skid plates for safer and more secure off-roading.

TOWING CAPABILITY

Wrangler offers the ability to tow up to 3,500 pounds. Trailer Sway Control is a standard safety and security feature that does not require driver input and automatically kicks in whenever it senses you need it.
